Dr. Bonar started Midwest Orthopedics Foot & Ankle in 2005 after practicing for ten years in a large orthopedic group in Kansas City.
Dr. Bonar believes the majority of foot and ankle problems can be treated effectively with simple and inexpensive non-operative methods. She has completed a Foot and Ankle Fellowship in addition to general orthopaedic residency and is a leader in her field by staying abreast of the latest developments in diagnosis and treatment.
Dr. Bonar is assisted by specialized medical staff, along with a certified pedorthist/orthotist trained in shoe fitting and
the construction of specially prescribed orthotics (shoe inserts) and braces.
Dr. Bonar graduated from Hickman Mills High School in Kansas City, Missouri. Dr. Bonar graduated from the University of Chicago in 1985 with a degree in Biology. She then obtained her medical degree from the Yale School of Medicine, graduating AOA (top 5% of her class). Dr. Bonar completed her five year orthopedic residency at the University of Iowa followed by a Foot and Ankle Fellowship at the Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.
